Bib, The making.

Posted in DIY, Inspiration by styleantagonist on December 11, 2009

i was very much inspired enough by The Glamourai’s bib necklace creation when i first set my eyes on her blog. i must admit that i came to know about the existence of DIY bib necklaces through her. She was one of my blogger friend who does DIYs on women’s fashion accessories. If i am not wrong, i recalled seeing bib necklaces way back in my college days in 2000 – 2002. But it was revisited now. Anyway, what i did was, without much of thinking, i make time and grabbed all the old necklaces and leftover beads that i can find and started making a bib out of them. i was pretty sure that it is as simple enough to do one. Thanks to blackcoffeecrumbs for the captured pics and mute-mode for the yummy milo-iced drink on a hot sunny day just enough to chill me off the heat in the no-ventilation-kitchen. And mom (sorry, she doesn’t own a blog of her own at the moment, i will try convincing her to begin with one as she has got so many to share about everything pluss her english is way much better than mine ;-) ), who’s kind enough to cook herself a packet of instant noodle just to keep me accompanied during my bib project..

And while we were all being so chatty, suddenly we were greeted by an unwelcome guest…

Yes, its the none other than the predictable irritating Raven (ughh, speaking of her, i despised her for bitting my newly purchased but never worn F21 long tank top just now!!! Arghhh!!!)

Will let you know the outcome of the bib once its in completion. It has only reached a 90% of progression for now. Hopefully i have the time to finish it off.

Have a wonderful weekend to all of you!

Omahyra Mota Garcia, one of my ever-favourite fashion model till today besides Maria Carla Boscono, Ai Tominaga, Freja Beha Erichsen, Liya Kebede & Alek Wek. To some of you, it might sound a little too ‘out-of-date’ but they are always my personal choice because to me, they look authentic and natural.

Among them, Omahyra and Freja falls into the ‘boyish’ category whereas the rest are more towards the feminine side.  If i would to host a fashion runway, their names would definitely be on my list. i do take serious consideration in picking my favourite models as i personally dislikes models with bitchy, dumb and slutish looking image. Though you might know that models (well, most of them) are not very educated, therefore i expect a little intelligence to be projected in their look or at least, in how the way they carry themselves.

The reason why i am saying this is because, i have came to notice that the recent magazine shots and editorials are getting nowhere with more & more images of models with slutishly-dumb-looking-role in it. Its completely common and very predictable to have almost nude or completely nude models posing with their ‘wasted’ or ‘slutish/sexy’ faces these days. i know that they are trying to to be artistic but i personally feel that these is not necessary and can only conclude that they’re basically imposing women in the fashion industry are worthless and have no self-dignity. i am speechless for this and wished that more have respect to style with dignity. i hope you do too.

Nevertheless, their earning power is way much higher when compared to most of us… So, i guess there’s no condemnations here. AND i strongly feel, they themselves disagree to such poses BUT because of money, everything is possible. What do you think?

Thanks to all of you who dropping by : ) Really appreciate your time spent here.
